Coats used by mountain men and trappers were often made of leather and were long, almost down to the knee. Some coats were decorated with long fringes which were useful as well as being decorative as they could be cut off and used as ties if a strap snapped.

The ultimate trapper's jacket made of soft deerskin, complete with fringes and cones on fur which lets a grizzly know you are coming. The designs on the bottom are standard, but if you require your own personal designs, this can be done.
This jacket was made from a full antelope hide. The bottom has been left untrimmed, whilst the collar is large, wide, and made of deerskin. The white, brown and black colour tones within the hide made a striking pattern. It is fastened with leather ties but other fastenings may be used. An ideal jacket for those late summer evenings and strong winds.
