There are many variations in waistcoat design, all are made of top quality leather - you'll be the talk of the dance floor. Again, these vests are all hand-made from my own designs. Decoration can be done in leather dye, special leather inks, or appliqué.
These waistcoats cannot be reproduced exactly, they are only examples of what is possible. All waistcoats are made to measure and made to your specification, but will depend on hides available at the time, and individual preferences. This waistcoat is made out of the finest soft oiled deerskin and top quality cow hide. There is scroll work and arrowheads which hang down over the shoulders. It is laced with thonging around all its outer edges and it is sown with sinew. The arrowheads denote the energy which comes down from grandfather sky to grandmother earth. The scrollwork represents the blending of the spirits of the earth.

This waistcoat is made out of cow hide, but could easily be made out of moose or elk hide. On the shoulders are depicted the symbols of the raven which represent the spirits of our ancestors. Beneath are the symbols of the whale, the mighty giants and keepers of the ocean. On the back is the head of the wolf, embraced by four ravens with a native American sitting upon a horse on the top, arms outstretched, calling to great spirit. These symbols represent the iridescence and changeabiltiy of life. The wolf is the teacher and the guide.

This is a fine example of a beautiful beige suede waistcoats which is plain on the front, yet has dark brown leather thonging trim. On the reverse, appliquéd in hand-sewn leather, is a wolf howling at the moon, with the snow and the slightly darker wolf silhouette. This makes a fine dress waistcoat for an evening out.

The pride of my collection is this waistcoat made of the finest quality cow hide. It is soft and supple and in two-tone colours - soft beige and burnt umber. The illustrations are done in black leather dye, which means the dye goes into the hide like a tattoo. The picture on one side of the front is of a wolf howling at the moon. On the reverse is a full size head of a wolf, hand painted individually. Each item is unique.
The grey waistcoat is made of coarse suede and a unique mottled leather. The back is in the mottled leather, whilst the scrollwork on the front is in the same. The arrowheads on the front, made of soft white hide, represent earth, fire, air, water - the four elements. The waistcoat is lined in pure wool.

A ladies waistcoat made of soft navy blue leather. The waves and dolphin are made of white leather, hand stitched and edged with thonging. The dolphin leaps joyously from the waves and the scrollwork represents the waves of the ocean. This is a fine example of the intricacy of detail which can be achieved.

Another ladies waistcoat made of oiled deerskin. It has fringes on the shoulders and pockets, and a long triangular fringe on the back. Beads are individually sewn and securely fastened to the fringes with sinew. As with all these waistcoats, the work is all lovingly hand-crafted to individual specification, making a unique garment for your specific needs and it will last a lifetime.
This waistcoat is made of the softest cowhide and is left with a natural colour to bring out the texture and beauty of the leather itself. This simple, but effective, design has two useful pockets, along with chest fringes. These fringes don't just look good, traditionally, they were used as a method of keeping thongs close to hand for whenever something needed tying up. Essential, in the frozen wastes of the Yukon - imagine being stuck in the middle of nowhere just because a string has broken on your snow shoe
